When I was a boy growing up in Albert Lea, Minnesota the local Audobon Society Chapter hosted an annual lecture series. Speakers from all over the world came to town and gave slide-show or film lectures on different aspects of the natural world. It was my introduction to ecology and the natural sciences. I understand that the program ended some years ago. It's too bad as it was such a wonderful resource to the community.
